His temple, a basin
where numerous travelers stopped by
to wash away their sins
with tears of repentance
that scald the soul.
The myopic
were obviously repelled
by the dazzle of the faucet.

That's interesting. I like your use of the prompt!
Thanks Joe2Poetry. Glad you liked it :)
Where I work they offer the option of hand sanitizer--perhaps in case someone is myopic!
Good... That at least ensures hand sanitization if not soul cleansing. Thanks for reading Tempest Nightingale LeTrope.
tears of repentance that scald the soul...beautiful!
Thanks momosapien. According to Hinduism, genuine repentance is one thing that can rid one of his sins... Hence that line :)
I love your use of the word 'scald'--especially interspersed with wash, and basin and the idea of soul cleansing. Such evocative imagery :-)
Very powerful story. The repentence of Sin, the cleansing of our souls, is an intensely Holy act so the closing line of being dazzled by his faucet is a dynamite way to finish. Well-stated, well-structured work. Thank you for sharing your creative vision with us all. :)
Thank you for your kind words CC. I am so glad you liked it :)
Thanks a lot for stopping by to read Tom. It's always such a pleasure to read your comment, especially your analytical view of the whole thing. Trust me, it's very encouraging. And it always makes smile :)
Lovely.
Did you write this with any particular place in mind?
Nothing particularly in mind actually... Just penned down the words that rushed in :)
Thanks for stopping by to read darkcirclesetc.
Very beautiful!
